Starting December 1, 2018, a horse/pony may not compete in any classes requiring USHJA registration unless it has a compliant microchip. If a horse does not have a microchip and is unable to get one prior to competing, it shall not be allowed to compete.The only classes exempt from the microchip requirement are outreach classes and those classes listed in GR901.9 (1-9).
